Villisca Axe Murder, The Untold Story
Movie Memories and Millers Paranormal create Villisca DVD
In January of 2004, we were contacted by Joe Pate with Movie Memories in Atlantic, Iowa - not too far from Villisca. Joe had come up with an idea for an ambitious project involving a paranormal research team, the house and a group of non-believers of the paranormal world. Once Joe got the go ahead from Darwin, he reached out to our friends with the Millers Paranormal Research Group and asked them to be involved in the project as well. The Millers Group had already conducted two previous investigations in the house and were excited to be a part of Joe's project. Joe's goal was to film an investigation in the house while recording the reactions of the visitors. The date for the shoot was scheduled for the 19th and 20th of March.
Jeff Brown, Darwin's nephew signed on as well and agreed to provide the soundtrack fo the Film. Joe and Darwin put out a call for extras a few days before the filming and many previous visitors to the house came down to help out. The actual filming went well and during the night the Millers Team captured the first real image of a spirit that has been taken in the house. According to the video, they also received enough information to complete their investigation and put forth their version of who committed the Villisca Axe Murders.
Persons involved in the taping included: Brenda Marble(lead Investigator), Dee Ann Tripses (Investigator and Webmaster), Misty Maeder (Seer & Shaker), Joyce Morgan (Psychic), Joe Pate, Stacy Pate, Sean Merryman, Ron Flory, Dave Walton, and Chris (Film Crew). Jeff Brown & Kirt Bowman (Music Group, wrote the songs "Ballad of J.B. Moore" and the "Paranormal Boogie"). The following guests were selected to participate and attempt to sleep in the house... Dave Cooperider, Missy Annen, Brian Shapiro, Holly Toomey, Derrell Cole and Kevin Kite.
A few highlights of the evening included:
- Joe was touched on the shoulder at approximately 12:30 a.m. His wife had a sensation as if someone kept pulling on her sleeve and hair throughout her visit.
- We all had a distinct smell of pipe tobacco that went systematically throughout the house, and will explain in the video how this ties to the murderer!
- The batteries that Jeff put into his guitar-tuner, just last month, were dead and these usually last for 2 to 3 years!!.
